The below file contains a list of US, UK and Canadian phone codes. We maintain an online version of the data here. If you download and extract the zip file, you will be able to filter the data by entering text, or a number, in a simple box at the top of the list.

» Download Excel List of Area Codes

Note we do not provide a direct link to the xls file because some browsers will try and render the sheet within the browser and may not interpret the sheet's code correctly. The file itself is in xls format. This is to guarantee compatibility with earlier versions of Excel. It will continue to function if re-saved in Excel 2007/2010's xlsm format.

This is a very basic example of the work we can do. Hopefully you will find the sheet straightforward to use. The only "special instruction" is that you will need to enable macros when opening the file, otherwise the search function will not work. If you are not prompted to enable macros when opening Excel, you will need to lower your security settings. By default, Windows does not trust external code because, if malicious, it can be extremely damaging.
